It is an EU Directive that restricts the use of certain hazardous substances within electrical and electronic equipment. The law applies to manufacturers, importers, distributors, and retailers of products with electrical or electronic components. Any product with more than 0.1% (by weight) of any one of the hazardous substances cannot be placed on sale in EU member states. ROHS Certification The law adopts a common approach to control the risks posed by electrical devices between private households and professional users.
